The Orihuela City Council tenders actions to improve road safety, sustainability and tourism

Within the framework of the Tourism Sustainability Plan in Destination of Orihuela, the City Council has published the announcement for the contracting of the following actions:

1.- Acquisition and installation of single lightingconsisting of 20 columns with solar powered LED lamps distributed on the Barranco Rubio promenade, with the aim of improving road safety. The budget for the action amounts to € 48,279.00 that must be carried out within a maximum period of 30 days.

2.- Acquisition and installation of digital equipmentconsisting of an information screen in the Orihuela Costa Town Hall, a giant TV screen and an interactive table in the Centro Tourist Office, with the aim of improving the visitor service experience and reinforcing the destination's tourism communication strategy. The budget allocated amounts to 18. €000.00 and the maximum term will be 2 months.

3.- Acquisition of audio guide equipment consisting of 10 transmitters, 60 receivers, 100 disposable headphones and a transport and recharging case, with the aim of improving the accessibility of the tourist routes of Orihuela and facilitating the interpretation of the heritage through guided tours adapted to different audiences. The budget amounts to € 9,957.50 and the maximum term will be 2 months.

4.- Drafting of the marketing plan, with the aim of reviewing the Tourism Marketing Plan drafted in 2023, and, on the other hand, generating a new detailed, quantifiable and traceable action plan for the next 5 years, to position the Orihuela destination as an accessible tourist destination, sustainable and diversified. The budget for the action reaches an amount of 14. 000 €, with a maximum completion period of 2 months.

The Councilor for Tourism, Gonzalo Montoya, stressed that "these actions reinforce our commitment to a safer, more sustainable and modern tourism model, improving the visitor experience, betting on energy efficiency and providing Orihuela with a clear and planned strategy to consolidate ourselves as a competitive destination throughout the year thanks to the boost of European funds".

The project is covered by the subsidy received from the Ministry of Industry and Tourism within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, financed by the European Union, Next Generation EU.
